India is a cricket playing country and its domestic circuit is as vibrant as the International schedules, well packed with high voltage fixtures. With a number of domestic tournaments like Duleep Trophy, Ranji Trophy, the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy and more, players within the home circuit hardly has a season for leisure. Moreover, as players are frequently interchanged between international and domestic fixtures, it becomes a complicated task to keep on shuffling them. In the year 2016-17 there has been a number of transfers within cricket circles of the country. Here is a concise summary of movements of players.
Chhattisgarh had a number of new players this year. The all-rounder player, Mohammad Kaif is newly appointed as the captain of Chhattisgarh Team. Earlier, Kaif was with Andhra Pradesh for the season 2014-15. He helped the team to reach quarterfinals in Ranji Trophy in the year of his appointment, but in the following tournament, Andhra Pradesh could not deliver any good show. Before joining the team, Kaif was the captain of Uttar Pradesh to win the 2005-06 Ranji Trophy. Along with Kaif, players like Ashutosh Singh, Pankaj Kumar Rao and Sumit Ruikar will play for the state's team. Chhattisgarh Team will also have Sulakshan Kulkarni as their coach, who was with Mumbai.
Vidarbha will have Ambati Rayadu as a new entrant to the team. The player is on a contract of two years with the state. He has replaced S Badrinath, the Captain of Vidarbha. However, as Prakash Dixit, the Association's president has made it clear that Rayadu will not be the captain of the team. Rayadu was playing for Baroda in 2010-11. He played with Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad earlier. Also, players like Wasim Jaffer and Ganesh Satish will also play for Vidarbha.
S Badrinath, who left Vidarbha as the captain will join Hyderabad. On the other hand, Hyderabad will have B Arun as the coach, which is expected to have a better impact on the team. B Arun was the former bowling coach. Another team, that will have a new face as a coach is Tripura. R Sridhar, who was the fielding coach of T20 India Team is appointed as the head coach of Tripura. Smit Patel will also play for Tripura this season. He was the wicketkeeper of Under-19 World Cup in 2012. The player has a number of accolades to his name.
Kerala will welcome a number of players this season. The top players of team Mumbai XI like Bhavin Thakkar, Iqbal Abdulla and Jalaj Saxena will play for Kerala. Another player, Prashanth Parameswaran, the left-arm spinner, has joined the team. Andhra Pradesh will have G Hanuma Vihari and DB Ravi Teja as new players in the team.
