Before a couple of IPL seasons, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were among the top teams in the tournament. The teams had a strong combination of squad. This is still the case, but Rajasthan Royals could not return to the tournament with their previous glamor. After more than half the games in the current seasons, Royals slumped themselves into the exit way of the tournament. The woeful middle order, blowing misfiring and fielding mistakes costed them heavy as they prepare to wrapped up their campaigns.
On the other side, Chennai is successful to turn up as one of the most relevant teams in the season so far. They won an aged group of players in the auction and it turned up with effective result. Royals had to replace their top bets with new names, but it is not the only reason for their troublesome campaigns. They did not have the best combination, even if they had some of the best players in the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals are playing this upcoming IPL match with Chennai Super Kings wearing pink T-shirts, a noble cause for cancer awareness. If they win, they will survive their hopes for some more time, if they lose, they would follow Delhi Daredevils on the knock out row. On the other side, if Chennai wins the match, they would be a step closer to the playoffs.
CSK players like Ambati Rayadu, Shane Watson and MS Dhoni has been playing with their best forms in the season. While, Royals’ players like Ben Stokes, D’Arcy Short and Jaydev Unadkat are still to turn up their strikes. Adding to their woes, captain Ajinkya Rahane had only a little to offer this season.
In the last three matches, Royals lost two matches consecutively, while Super Kings won two losing the single fixture. In their previous faceoff, Super Kings scored 204 runs in a flurry and defended it slogging Royals at 140 runs. In the match, Shane Watson also plundered the fastest century of the season.
