Delhi Daredevils is already on its exit way. They still have two matches to go, but the results would have no effect on their woes for in IPL 2018 season. They still have to play two matches against Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, these two teams are the most successful teams of the season. These matches might not be of any avail to Daredevils, but Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils is now on a position to reap good benefits.
If Chennai Super Kings wins the match, they would rise to the top two positions on IPL point chart. The team has already sealed its berth on IPL playoffs. The Super Kings has been through consecutive wins and loss in the tournament. In their previous tussle against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they thumped a strong win.
Delhi Daredevils lost three consecutive matches in their previous campaigns. They lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets, to Sunrisers Hyderabad by nine wickets and seven wickets. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings won two matches, while losing a game to Rajasthan Royals. They won against Sunrisers Hyderabad as well as Royal Challengers Bangalore. In their last campaign against Hyderabad, Deepak Chahar attacked strongly, while Ambati Rayadu blasted a century.
Daredevils has been quite expensive in powerplay overs throughout IPL 2018. This is also the reason of lose campaigns in the season. Their bowlers have also conceded high runs in middle overs. In the tournament so far, they poured out more than 50 runs in powerplay overs in 11 matches. While, they gave out 40 runs per wicket in powerplay and middle overs.
With such stats at hand, the team could become victim of Super Kings’ strike in the next match. In the previous faceoff, Delhi bowlers presented half-centuries to both Shane Watson and MS Dhoni. The batsmen played 62 balls in total to plunder 129 runs. Chennai would try to nick the upcoming match to seal one of the two top ranks in points table.
