Sri Lanka is set to tour India for a long tournament comprised of all format matches in the coming months. BCCI confirmed the tour dates lately, on October 3. The tour will comprise of three Test, three ODIs and three T20 international matches. The first Test will begin from November 16, the second from November 24 and the third from December 2. The venues are set as Kolkata, Nagpur, and Delhi. The Test schedules will be followed by the ODI series. The three ODIs will be played on December 10, December 13, and December 17, at Dharamshala, Mohali and Vizag respectively. The T20 matches will be played in Cuttack, Indore, and Mumbai on December 20, 22 and 24.
Before the first Test in Kolkata, Sri Lanka is also set for a warm match of three days in the Test format. BCCI has figured out a way to put aside the Nagpur woe by scheduling the second Test of the series at the venue. The ground at Nagpur was rated as 'poor' by ICC after the Test match between India and South Africa. Since, only a few international matches were played at the stadium. Meanwhile, BCCI endeavored a facelift of the ground along with authorities. The ground was worked on and was re-laid making it fit. Also, the last ODI between India and Australia on October 1 was also played at Nagpur.
Sri Lanka is currently at the Test tournament against Pakistan at United Arab Emirates. The team also won the first Test at Abu Dhabi after an excellent spell from Rangana Herath, the top spin bowler. It is a long tour comprising of two Tests, five ODIs and three T20 International matches. The final T20 of the tour will be played at Lahore. This will be the first time Sri Lanka after the 2009 mishap. India is playing against Australia currently. The team won the recently concluded ODI series by 4-1. The last leg of the tournament, the T20s is set to begin. There will be three T20 matches in the series.
