Earlier it was reported that Sakariya had received the call last week about his father who immediately got his IPL salary transferred to help his family.
Things could not get worse for the 22-year old as he lost two members of his family in a mere span of 5 months. A few months ago, In January, the cricketer also lost his brother Rahul, who committed suicide.
“I was lucky because I had received my part payment from Rajasthan Royals a few days ago. I straight away transferred money back home, and that is helping my family the most in my toughest time,” Sakariya told The Indian Express.

The Indian Cricket journalist and commentator Harsha Bhogle expressed his condolences for the 22-year old who earlier this year has had been through a lot already.
“Feel so much for young Chetan Sakariya who played with the most heartwarming smile you will see. Wish him strength as he mourns the passing of his father to this horrible Covid.” Bhogle tweeted.
The 22-year old lost his brother to suicide earlier this year. He found it quiet difficult to get over with the loss but his temperament and dedication earned him a ticket to IPL where he bagged 7 wickets before the tournament got postponed.
