Australia's best Test batsman and World's second-best batsman Steve Smith has reached Mumbai and has joined the Delhi Capitals squad. The franchise was overwhelmed to welcome the right-handed batsman and also posted a picture of Steve Smith with India's monument 'Gateway of India' in the background.

Steve Smith was released by Rajasthan Royals after a poor show in IPL 2020. He was also removed from captaincy. However, there was a ray of light for Smith as two franchises showed interest in him in IPL 2021. Delhi Capitals ended up buying him at slightly more than his base price after Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled out of the bid.

Delhi Capitals' newest recruit Tom Curran has joined the squad in Mumbai, where they will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings. Curran was a part of England squad which played ODIs and T20Is against India.
During an interaction with DCTV, Curran spoke about his first training session with Delhi Capitals and the weather after landing in Mumbai.
"Yeah, good, really good. Nice to get out and meet a few other boys. I love the practice facilities here. It was first when we first got here and then managed to get a bit more shade. So, yeah, really enjoyable first day," Curran said.
