The Context of Final
Despite the unprecedented pandemic and circumstances, ICC managed to sustain the pre-planned 2-year long tournament with slight alterations in the rule. The Final is set to be played on the expected date at Southampton.
The finalist team-skipper Kane Williamson said that the fantastic matches and moments have set up the stage perfectly and implied that the stakes are quite high for the final match.
“When we play against India, it has always been a fantastic challenge and so it is really exciting to be playing against them,” Williamson said in a video posted by the ICC on its Twitter handle.
The 30-year looked quite excited for the final as the blackcaps will class clash the Kohli-led side next month on June 18.
“It’s really, really exciting to be involved in the final, obviously to win it would be that much better,” said Williamson, considered one of the best current batsmen in the world.
Wagner, Vihari acknowledges the situation
“India has a lot of quality fast bowlers who have done well in different conditions, they can swing under overcast conditions but when the sun comes out it is flat and nothing happens.” says Wagner.
The Bouncer Sensation acknowledges the conditions and implies it would be helpful for him but reckons not to get carried away.
“(English) Conditions can change throughout and so I am not getting carried away too much, trying to control the controllable,” stated the NZ cricketer.
The Gritty Indian test batsman Hanuma Vihari also mentioned that he wish not to get carried away by situation as he realises the stakes.
Vihari is known for his Stoicism. His unbelievably resilience knock against Australia in the third test helped India to escape the defeat and eventually became one of the reasons for India’s historic series win against Australia.
