The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League will be underway tonight with the defending champions facing Royal Challengers Banglore. READ MORE England's county club Surrey wants to host IPL matches
The hype of this edition has skyrocketed owing to multiple causes, the tournament being held in India despite the second wave of COVID-19 under strict and prudently governed protocols and another being the much awaited ICC T20 WC starting October later this year. Every individual will strive to leave a mark in the imminent tournament later tonight.
The 5-time champion Mumbai Indians would not bother to fancy many changes from the last year's final. Led by Rohit Sharma, MI looked balanced with the fair inclusion of Indian and Foreign players. They are likely to go with only three foreign players given that team is bolstered with quality capped and uncapped Indian Players. Jimmy Neesham is an option but already having three all-rounders in the XI squad would not open any doors for the Kiwi All-rounder. The team is totally balanced and would like to keep up their ryhtm with a win at their new home ground.
Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Piyush Chawla/Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah Cricketbolo's dream XI:
Royal Challengers Banglore
Despite starting off the tournament in royal fashion last year, RCB found them struggling to make it to the top 4. The Kohli side somehow made it to the playoffs only to ingloriously lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB, however on paper looks comparitevly stabilized especially with the inclusion of two grandeurs acquisitions in Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson. The Success mantra for this team lies in the batting lineup and with the inclusion of explosive Glenn Maxwell, RCB squad will feel more confident. The post IPL season for Siraj has been remarkable and he will lead the attack with more confidence, aided by brilliant chahal and the talented kiwi youngster Kyle Jamieson.
