Morgan said, "Debuts are not entirely about the players, it's about the bigger picture the family, friends, and the journey player has been on all those volunteers or coaches and the places where you lived have all made contributions and sacrifices of different magnitudes. So it's a celebration of that achievement but also recognition of the start of the next so it was great Prasidh go there and represent all of us and most importantly his family."
Prasidh Krishna made his international debut in the first ODI against England and despite an undesirable start bagged four wickets. Morgan was dropped on the first ball at the second slip off Prasidh's beauty. On the other hand, Shubhman gill made his Test debut against Australia in December and made 45 and 35 unbeaten leaving a solid impression.
Shubhman Gill's most crucial knock came in the decider under pressure when he crafted a composed and resolute knock after losing his opening partner cheaply. Gill made 91 off 146 and added 114 with Cheteshwar Pujara thus setting a momentum for the massive chase. Gill made 259 runs at an average of 51
Talking about his KKR teammate, Morgan said, "He(Gill) is been through a different phase and is been impressive. He is experienced with one of the challenging overseas tours in Australia, obviously came back with a lot of confidence."
Morgan was rested for the last two ODIs against India earlier this week, he reckoned he is better and will be back on the field within days.
Morgan further said adding Harbhajan Singh strengthened the squad and they got one of the best spin attacks in the tournament.
"It's a pretty healthy Indian Pool of players to the side", the KKR skipper added.
