Mumbai Indians despite starting off great could not manage to touch the 160 mark but fought well enough in the second innings to make sure RCB does not chase it comfortably. Chris Lynn post-match spoke in the press conference. Bumrah bowled just one in the powerplay and returned in the 13th over to break the partnership. Lynn was asked if h backed Rohit's move for bringing bumrah in front of relentless Maxwell.
"It was a tricky move but Rohit obviously has been a very successful captain so you got to back the captain," Lynn said. "For the opposition, thinking Bumrah got 3 left in the latter half is mentally tough."
Rohit Sharma looked great in powerplay but had to get back to the pavilion owing to a runout due to lack of coordination between openers. Lynn chuckled and said he felt nervous after that incident considering it was his first game for the franchise, "I would have sacrificed my wicket if I could , but it was not the case".
The opener further added, "It happens in the game of cricket, and Rohit's unfortunate wicket made a 10-15 runs difference, that being said there were other factors too that affected the scoreboard". Lynn reckoned it was more of a skill error than tactical error as being bowling after being locked in a room is never too easy but the squad is mentally strong and know how to get back the rhtym.
Royal Challengers Banglore defeated Mumbai Indians by merely two wickets on the last ball. Harshal Patel was rewarded Player of the Match for his staggering fifer.
