Saurashtra seals Vijay Hazare final berth running over Andhra in Semi
Ravindra Jadeja scored a half century in the semi-final fixture.

In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Saurashtra sealed the final berth winning the second semi-final fixture against Andhra team. The team scored 255 runs sent in to bat first at Delhi. The score was bolstered with half century scores from Ravindra Jadeja and Arpit Vasavada, while, PN Mankad and SB Vyas scored good scores. In the chase, Saurashtra defended the score restricting Andhra to 196. The chase was over in only 45.3 overs as their bowlers topple Andhra’s line-up with a stringent attack. The highest score in the chase was the addition of 42 each by Ravi Teja and Sumanth. In the inning, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja took 4 wickets for 40 runs playing as a match winner.

Andhra’s defeat of 59 runs was devised in the first inning itself when Saurashtra batsmen thumped scoring shots. The team started losing a couple of early wickets, but the line-up was able to keep up the run rate throughout the inning. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 17 runs playing as the captain brining the middle order partnership stretches. In the cameo between Jadeja, Vasavada and Mankad, the mid inning had impressive runs. There was a 113 runs partnership between Jadeja and Vasavada. Earlier in the inning, there was a strong addition of 46 runs from opener SB Vyas. In the lower order, the flashy 40 off 28 by Makvana bolstered the inning.

Andhra started its chase losing an early wicket of K Ashwin Hebbar in the 5th over. There were no wickets for the next 10 overs, but opener KS Bharat and captain GH Vihari could not pull up the required momentum. The partnership ended in the 15th over with the wicket of the opener followed by the captain in the next over. This inning was too featured with a strong middle order batting of Dwaraka Ravi Teja and B Sumanth. Both scored good runs pulling the chase to 150-mark. However, even if there were enough overs to reach the target, the players could not maintain further partnerships. Saurashtra bowlers wrapped up the inning in 43.5 overs.
