IPL-9 came up as a one-sided victory for Delhi Daredevils when it came to the fixtures against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, in overall, Hyderabad has notched three victories off Delhi playing five matches in the tournament. In last two matches this season, Hyderabad lost and the upcoming fixture against Daredevils will be a strong attempt to win.
Additionally, as the home team at Hyderabad pitch, the pressure is on Sunrisers. Of the four matched they tussled with Delhi on the ground, Hyderabad has lost two. The batsmen of the team have played excellent especially on their home ground. The strikes from players like David Warner and Naman Ojha and the bowling from Bhuvneshwar Kumar has shown the prowess of the team on the ground.
Delhi Daredevils are going slow with their batsmen. So far, only Sanju Samson emerged as a strong striker of the team. The batsman has a hefty record against pacers with a strike rate of 176.05 this season. However, his strike against spinners is close to 100. This could bring up the prospects of spinners like Rashid Khan, who has already played strong in previous matches for Hyderabad. In the last match, Delhi Daredevils lost to Kolkata Knight Riders, but Samson emerged as a heavy challenge for bowlers. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant also emerged as imperative batsmen for Delhi. On bowling, Chris Morris, Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada has been a good combination for the team.
Delhi might include Shahbaz Nadeem, who they left out from the last match. Corey Anderson is yet to become fit and he might miss the game again giving it out to Angelo Mathews. Another player, Karun Nair, has not find a better play until now. Hyderabad coach Tom Moody takes Delhi seriously terming them as “a dangerous side.” He pointed at some of their “genuine match-winners” posing a strong expectation from his players.
