Rajasthan Royals’ comeback did not go well so far. Despite the fact that they sucked in some of the top players with top records, they are hanging on the bottom of IPL point chart. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab has successfully changed its basic strategy handing away the leadership baton to Ravichandran Ashwin. They managed to win several hefty matches keeping up themselves relevant in the chart. The upcoming tussle between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will be the second this IPL season. Rajasthan played nine matches so far, winning only three. In the last face off with Punjab, they lost in a below average-score match.
Team Royals is bolstered with several top players like Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler. D’Archy Short, Jofra Archer and Ajinkya Rahane. However, the combination somehow seems to mismatch severely. Short, Jofra Archer, Ajinkya Rahane and Short as well, did play well in some impressive innings, but has been always one of the other. Although Buttler and Rahane could open with a momentum, the middle other is wobbly since the beginning of the tournament. In the upcoming match, they would tussle Punjab at home, this might prove as an advantage.
Kings XI has seated in the upper positions of the table. Still, they have their own complexities to handle. Especially, with the bat, the line up wobbles up in the middle order every time. Opening pair Lokesh Rahul and Chris Gayle played strong innings. In bowling, they have strong grip. Lately, Mujeeb Ur Rahman emerged as a handy bet. In the middle order as well, Punjab might have a turnaround with the inclusion of Marcus Stoinis.
In the upcoming match, the odds would meet the evens. While Jaipur has been the toughest venue to hit sixes so far Royals’ sluggish bowling would meet Kings’ upbeat run rate. This could lead to a high scoring match if Punjab bats first.
