Ritika Sajdeh, is more famed as Rohit Sharma’s wife
Among pretty celebrities, Ritika Sajdeh is almost as famous as her husband, Rohit Sharma. She is more famed as Rohit Sharma’s wife to cricket fans. In this latest IPL season, she put herself in a fray with fans of MS Dhoni. She posted the cover of GQ India, a lifestyle magazine, where Rohit Sharma was posed as “Captain Cool”. This pulled the wrong cords within fan base of MS Dhoni, who claimed that only the latter can be “Captain Cool”, not Rohit Sharma! She was trolled on social media but she was all cool about it.
Well, Rohit Sharma might not be not be the “Captain Cool”, but is certainly among the coolest batsmen, letting his bat do most of the talking for him. And in his making, Ritika’s support and contribution is substantial. Her husband dedicating centuries after centuries to her, says a lot. After all, she is his lifelong manager and they tour around the world together.
Ritika is also the rakhi-sister of Yuvraj Singh
Ritika was born on December 21 in 1987. Her father is Bobby Sajdeh and mother is Tina Sajdeh. They are two siblings; Kunal Sajdeh, being her brother. She is seen most of the times cheering her husband, especially when he plays as the captain for Mumbai Indians in IPL. She met Rohit Sharma through her profession as a sports manager. Ritika used to manage sporting engagement for the company owned by her cousin. As the first employee of the company, she is integral to the family venture. Bunty Sachdeva, her cousin, knew Rohit Sharma since a decade.
The couple’s first meeting is interesting. Ritika is also the rakhi-sister of Yuvraj Singh, the celebrity batsman. In a recent show, Rohit Sharma revealed about their first meet. It was back in 2008, in a Reebok shoot. Ritika accompanied Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan to the shoot where Rohit Sharma was also invited. When Yuvraj introduced her to Rohit Sharma, he jokingly made a point that Rohit should not even think of looking at her because she was his “rakhi-sister”. The shoot did not go well as Rohit seemed to be worried and angry throughout the episode. Adding to his frustration, the director announced that his mic was off and they need to take the shot again. The hitman needed some air and he came down for a walk being totally worn down.
Rohit proposed Ritika with a ring in Borivali sports club ground
In this moment, Ritika joined Rohit and asked if he needed some assistance. They talked and she managed to calm down the player. It was the beginning of the ‘management saga’. She became the professional manager of Rohit Sharma. After some months, they became friends and gradually, they started dating. Ritika soon became a celebrity as Rohit Sharma’s girlfriend.
Fast forward to 2015; on April 2015, Rohit Sharma took Ritika to Borivali sports club ground. The location is of much importance to Rohit’s life as it was where he started playing cricket at the age of 11. He took out a solitaire ring and proposed Ritika to marry him. It was a great day, taking them forward to their engagement on June 3, 2015. Rohit Sharma shared the news of his engagement on social media with a tweet saying, “From best friends to soulmates, couldn’t get any better.”
The couple married on December 13, 2015 at Taj Lands Hotel. Another special arrangement was also made by the Ambanis at Antilla, their famous residence. Ambanis, the richest in India, are the sponsor of Mumbai Indians, and Rohit is their leader as well as the poster boy.
Rohit Sharma often dedicates his centuries and awards to his wife
The couple currently lives in Ahuja Towers in Worli. Ritika calls her husband “Ro”, who uploads their lovely selfies often on social media. She likes chocolates, travelling and water sports, often flaunting her pet dog on Instagram. The couple is now happily married for years, being the best supports for each other. When Mumbai Indian won IPL 7, 2014, she wished Rohit Sharma, the captain, with a heartfelt message. She said that it was because the player went “through possibly the hardest 6 months” of his life to “come out stronger, faster and more determined than ever.”
Rohit Sharma gifts her centuries from pitch. On February 13, 2018, in the fifth ODI against South Africa, the batsman nicked Man of the Match award for his match winning 115 runs off 126 balls. He dedicated the award as a Valentine’s Day gift to Ritika! What can be a lovelier gesture than this from a real gentleman of cricket for his soulmate?
