RCB uncertain about Gayle in the campaign against Kings XI Punjab
Chris Gayle will be the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in T20 if he adds 25 more runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab played 18 matches last season. Kings XI’s side was heavy winning ten matches. But in Mohali, the teams played two matches and Bangalore won both. In one, it was an 82-run win with D/L method and the other was a one run win. The next match could bring a historic moment for Chris Gayle. The batsman need 25 runs to reach the record mark of 10,000 runs in T20s. If he scales the run, he would be the first player to reach the milestone in T20. However, there are chances that the player might be even dropped from the fixture. This would depend on AB de Villiers, if he could return fit for the game. Kings XI might play Eoin Morgan resting Hashim Amla.

If Gayle plays, it would be an important fixture for him. Against Kings XI Punjab, Gayle has scored 797 runs, which is the highest score by an IPL batsman against a single team. Kings XI has been always the soft target for Gayle, who has achieved his best strike rate against the team. From bowler’s side, Sandeep Sharma has a good record of accomplishment. He has removed 12 RCB wickets so far at an economy of 17.91. 9 wickets have been his top strike against any team in the tournament. Another bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal, also has 12 wickets against the team, but with a better economy of 12.50.

Last season, both the teams were at the bottom of the economy rate lists. They were almost equal in terms of figures. RCB was at 8.82 and Kings XI had 8.56 last season. The fixture might turn out to par the figures even this time as Holkar Stadium has been among the lowest scoring IPL venues. The average run rate in first inning in last three matches was 6.94.
