Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will faceoff after a hiatus of two years in IPL 2018 season. The It was two seasons back when they played the tournament before suspension. The team have changed substantially with new players in the squad, while the old players underwent massive progress in their forms. So far, Royals won two matches or the four they played.

Some expensive players of the team could not show up strong strike until now in the series. This include players like Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat who are marginal yet. However, for the side, D’Arcy Short has been a good compensation against the odds. Meanwhile, skipper Ajinkya Rahane had a strong stance in the previous matches his team played.

Chennai Super Kings has been playing quite strong this season. MS Dhoni thumped good strikes in all the matches pulling out big numbers for the IPL team. The strikers injured his back in the Mohali match, but he is expected to emerged fit for the match. Suresh Raina is most likely to be dropped with a strapped leg. There are also probabilities of Imran Tahir moving away from the squad. On the other hand, Royals might play a tricky stroke of replacing Short with Heinrich Klassen. This could be the special strategy of the team to stand string against spin attacks of Super Kings.

Both the teams have almost equal advantage at the Pune venue, as per their previous IPL record. Spinners always had an upper-hand in the pitch in wickets front, but the average economy has been 23.83. Rajasthan Royals had the worst bowling average this season. At 39.14, bowlers of the team are through a worrisome attack. Also, the bowlers took the least number of wickets in the tournament this season, with a tally of 14 scalps. The team is yet to release players like Ravindra Jadeja to the full potential.
