R Ashwin, M Shami named in Ranji Squad
Top spinner R Ashwin is set to play two matches of the Ranji season for Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu squad for Ranji Trophy is announced lately. The two big names in the team at the tournament are Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay. Also, in the practice session Abhinav Mukund was present. The recent squad is named for the first two matches of Tamil Nadu. The matches are against Andhra Pradesh and Tripura. The captain of the team will be Abhinav Mukund, while Baba Indrajith will play as the vice-captain. The first two matches will be at MA Chidambaram ground. The match against Tripura is moved from Agartala to the location at Chennai. In the second match, B Anirudh will replace B Aparajith.

R Rohith is also included in the team. The player was selected as young player Lokeshwar is not available in the team. The young player will be playing the under-23 match against Mumbai, which is scheduled from October 8. The batsman is known for his aggression in batting style. The bowling ensemble of the team comprise of R Ashwin, V Lakshman, Washington Sundar, Malolan Ramgarajan. Also, Rahil Shah and R Sai Kishore are included in the team. V Lakshman is a pace bowler with natural style. Another pace bowler in the team are K Vignesh and L Vignesh. Another pace bowler, M Mohammad is also expected to arrive.

Two regular players Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar are not selected in the team as they are with the India A team. There are two keepers in the team N Jagadeesan and R Rohith. Also, Anirudh Sitaram will replace Aparajith in the match against Tripura.

In another report, Mohammed Shami is confirmed to play alongside the Bengal team in Ranji Trophy. Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Board has also announced their team for the tournament. The team was uncertain to join the tournament due to some constraints with BCCI. The matter is settled now. Ambati Rayadu will lead the Hyderabad team.
