Hardik Pandya set off the blitz in international arena since his debut in the T20 tournament against Australia in 2016. He is a successful product of IPL, playing with Mumbai Indians since 2015. He the experience of playing many T20 Internationals along with the World Cup tournament. He is also handy with the bat and is a strong fielder, apart from being a top bowler. He was in the ODI team of India for a couple of tournaments and in Test, he has already displayed his strength. The middle order player is a fit option with multiple roles. In a nutshell, Pandya is a jack in team India, who fits in with all situation just to change the game for his team.
Once Virat Kohli stated about Pandya’s position similar to that of Ben Stokes. As Stokes is both a strong option for India with bowling and batting, Pandya has a similar role to play in the Indian team. In his debut match at Galle, he knocked a half century to contribute immensely to the team’s tally of more than 600 runs. Pandya is beginning to be well known for his striking capabilities.
At the SSC test, Pandya delivered the breakthrough in the second inning. When Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis delivered a counter attack by the middle of the inning, India’s attack was almost derailed, pulling up the chase further. However, it was Pandya to strike down Mendis and do away with the partnership stand. Now in the third test, the player will be on test again. Jadeja will be absent from this Test and India’s bowling should reach the challenging mark with available options. Pandya is expected to show up his game again.
