Pakistan’s intense attack sets Zimbabwe on backfoot
Usman Khan took four wickets in the innings, slogging Zimbabwes line up.

Zimbabwe took on the pitch first against Pakistan at Bulawayo. However, the line up of the team went haywire as Pakistan set up an impressive attack. Hamilton Masakadza plundered 59 runs as the highest scorer of the innings. Another half century was from Moor, scoring 50 runs. On the other hand, Pakistan bowler Usman Khan and Hasan Ali shared seven wickets among them toppling the home team at 194 runs. Khan took down four wickets for 36 runs, while Hasan had 3 wickets for 32 runs. Zimbabwe had to face the early blow from Khan, who toppled BB Chari in the fourth over. The home team could not put up strong runs even if the players were able to stay on pitch for longer time.

The highest strike rate in the innings came out as 92 off WP Masakadza, who scored 12 off 13 balls. Hamilton Masakadza scored 59 runs playing 75 balls, while Peter Moor played 86 balls for his half century. Musakanda scored 24 runs off 34 balls. Masakadza and Tarisai Musakanda played the most stable partnership stretch in the innings. There was impressive footwork play from the former, steering the innings with a regular flow of runs at the rate of 3 to 4 runs per over. However, Musakanda’s lbw in the 20 over broke the pace right when Zimbabwe should have set a momentum in the innings. Pakistan seem to have a strong grip over bowling, which could make them stronger in the ODI Series.

Finally, Pakistan’s attack grew stronger after by 38th over, as the middle order got swept over. Hasan Ali bowled Murray, setting off the next slog of the innings. In the 44th over, Khan sent back both Tripano and Roche, slogging the innings at 7 wickets for 166 runs. In the 48th over, Moor was caught and Masakadza was run out. It was over from Hasan Ali, finally pulling the line up to the end. In the ultimate over, Chatara was down as the final wicket to fall.
