Ottis Gibson ready to prepare South Africa squad
Ottis Gibson, the new head coach of South Africa, will target the Test format as his priority.

After taking the helm of South Africa team, coach Ottis Gibson is set to hit his assignments with the team. This would begin with campaigns against Bangladesh at home. South Africa will play three ODIs and two T20 Internationals in the tour. The new coach should strengthen the team for this, but he has several aspects to take care off. The long-term goal is World Cup 2019, but an important task is to fix the Test ranking of the team. Although South Africa's ODI ranking is not that disappointing, it is ranked seventh at present. Thus, Gibson will have to prepare the team in both the formats, Test and ODI.

The head coach's will begin his stint with the team with the first face to face appearance at the SuperSport Park. Gibson invited all players in the both the Test, ODI and T20 teams. Although, the next fixture is on ODI and T20 format, the Test players of South Africa are also arriving to meet the new coach. Apart from captain Faf du Plessis, Dean Elgar, Quinton de Kock, Morne Morkel, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo and Keshav Maharaj are also at the schedule.

Ottis Gibson will also check the players in the other fixtures at the ongoing tournament. In the match between Lions and Warriors, players like Stephen Cook, Kagiso Rabada and Dwaine Pretorius will meet him. While, in the match between Knights and Cobras, Hashim Amla, David Miller, Dane Piedt and Duanne Oliver will have the rendezvous. Gibson might want to get a hold of the Test team. Several tasks are lining up for the new coach. Finding the right opening pair, finding an efficient bowling attack and maintaining a balance between the colored and other players of the team.
