Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. Quinton De Kock returned to the squad after finishing his quarantine. Quinton Kock lofted a tossed-up delivery off Varun Chakravarthy to mid-on and Rahul Tripathi takes a clean catch. Surya played three boundaries in the very next over displaying top-tier rhythm.
