For the first time Indian women's cricket team created history by making it to the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. India lost in the final match to Australia. In front of India, the host team had set a target of 185 runs, in response to which the entire team India was piled on for just 99 runs. Australia won the match by 85 runs and won the World Cup title for the second time in a row.
For the first time, the coach of the team, WV Raman, has said something about the defeat in the Indian World Cup final. He described the team's journey to the final in an interview as memorable. He believes that the team gave its best and they are proud of it.
Raman said during an interview, “The girls performed as a unit as against what was being said, that they were dependent highly on one or two individuals. They fought well and they had a lot of challenges which led to better Compete. All the fights were tough in which we had to fight, we were all ready for it. The girls really made us proud.”
