The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined South Africa 60 per cent of the match fee during the fourth Test match against England due to slow over-rate. Also, South Africa have been deducted six points in the ICC World Test Championship as punishment.
The Article 2.22 is related to slow over speed. As per the Article of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Support Staff, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fee per over as the team was not able to complete the overs in the stipulated time. Thus each of his players was fined 60 percent of the match fee.
In addition, according to Article 16.11.2 of the ICC World Test Championship playing conditions, a side has to deduct two points as penalty for each over. Let us tell you that England defeated South Africa by 191 runs in the last match on Monday and made it 3–1 in the four-match Test series.
