Rohit Sharma, the limited overs vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the cricket academy 'Crickingdom' a cricket academy based in Dubai. The academy facilitate coaching through its 'online platform' after the outbreak of the global pandemic Covid-19.
With the help of CricKingdom, in addition to taking the services of coaches, the ground and net facilities can be booked and also manages the academies. Rohit was quoted in the press release as saying, “CricKingdom wants to combine the traditional methods of creating great sportspersons with modern scientific training methods.”
Rohit's name has also been proposed as the director of the academy. Mumbai fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni is also one of the mentors of this academy. The academy offers coaching in four categories which include five to eight years, eight to 13 years, 13 years and club and elite level cricketers.
There are at least 20 coaches associated with this academy and most of them have worked at the grassroots and junior levels. Pradeep Ingale, Parag Madkaikar, Subhash Ranjane and Prathamesh Salunkhe are prominent among these coaches.
