Cricket giants Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will once again be seen playing on the cricket field for a noble cause.
This Road Safety World Series played in T20 format will be played among retired cricketers from five countries. The teams of Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and India will participate. In this series, played from February 2 to 16, a total of 11 matches will be played under the Series.
Many veterans will be seen playing in these matches. Several big names in cricket including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Brett Lee, Brad Hodge, Jonty Rhodes, Muttiah Muralitharan, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Ajanta Mendis will be participating. Former veteran opener Sunil Gavaskar is the commissioner of this league.
2 of the 11 matches will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Four matches will be played at the MCA Stadium in Pune, four matches at the DY Patil Stadium and the final match at Brabourne Cricket Stadium. The final match will be held on 22 March and all the matches will be played from 7 pm. This series is being organized with the aim of spreading awareness about road safety, which has received a no-objection certificate from the BCCI.
