Three people, including former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, have been accused of cheating a travel agent Mohammad Shahab for Rs 20 lakh. An FIR has been registered in this case in Aurangabad. On Wednesday, the police said that investigation into the case was going on.
The case has been registered on the complaint of 'Danish Tour and Travels' owner Mohammad Shadab. According to the complaint, between 9 November and 12 November 2019, Awakkal had booked and canceled tickets for Azharuddin and himself for several foreign cities. Shahab is also a former Jet Airways executive.
Police officer A.D. Nagre, who is investigating the case, said that on the first information, a case has been registered against Mujib Khan, who hails from Aurangabad, Sudhish Awakkal (Kerala) and Mohammad Azharuddin (Hyderabad). At present, no one has been arrested.
Azharuddin's personal secretary Mujib Khan on behalf of Awakkal asked Shahab to give the ticket money later. But despite this, they have not received the ticket money yet.
Meanwhile, Azharuddin said the allegations against him were baseless.
