Sachin Tendulkar said on Wednesday that he was involved in the charity match to help the fire victims. Tendulkar and Courtney Walsh of West Indies will coach the stars Ricky Ponting XI and Shane Warne XI in the Bushfire Cricket Bash set to be played on February 8.
Tendulkar tweeted, 'I chose the right team and the right reason. Hopefully, the Bushfire Cricket Bash will help victims and wildlife in Australia.
Earlier, Ponting had tagged Tendulkar in a tweet, writing, “What a wonderful thing it is to have Sachin Tendulkar in the Bushfire Cricket Bash, who took his time to do the job and picked the right team to coach too!
Many cricketers have come forward to help the victims of the fire. Warne and Jeff Thomson also auctioned their baggy green cap. Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell and D'Arcy Short said they would give two and a half hundred dollars to the charity in the Big Bash League.
