South Africa's tour of Sri Lanka in June due to deadly corona virus epidemic was canceled on Monday. South Africa were to tour Sri Lanka in the first fortnight of June to play three One-Day and three T20 matches.
CSA acting chief executive Dr Jacques Faul said, 'Our team has not been able to prepare due to the lockdown. Apart from this, the health of the players is our top priority.
He said, 'It is sad that we were forced to take this decision. We will talk about new tour dates soon. '
He admitted that the cancellation of the tour would affect his team's preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia at the end of the year. Faul says it is disappointing for the players as this tour was a good opportunity to prepare for the T20 World Cup.
