The Sikh seemed to take a lot of pride wearing the turban on and off the field. One little incident took place 5 days ago where he deliberately slammed Akshay Kumar for wearing turban for money in spite the fact that he is a legit sikh.
The 25-year-old was seen going after a troll who compared him with a famous Bollywood actor. An Instagram user noted that the Brar was looking like Akshay Kumar, from his movie ‘Singh is Bliing.’ To which he tweeted, “‘Paise ke liye Turban nahi pehnte hum’”. Twitter lashed out on him that day and mocked him for being benched most of the time.
The 25-year fortunately got an opportunity yesterday April 30 against Royal Challengers Banglore and the all-rounder showed his superb form with the bat and ball in his first appearance in IPL 2021.
He scored crucial unbeaten knock of 25 and helped his team to reach 179 and during the run chase, when at the halfway stage, RCB had lost only one wicket, he decimated the line up.
Brar first dismissed Virat Kohli and then Glenn Maxwell with his very next ball. He later picked up AB de Villiers, to numb RCB, ending with 3 for 19 in four overs.
Brar was awarded man of the match and the trolls on him barely aged as he displayed his phenomenal prowess on the field.
