Gautam Gambhir’s wife Natasha Jain created a perfect balance between his professional and personal life
Gautam Gambhir, the quintessential batsman, needs no introduction. His aggression in batting is well-known, like his achievements in the game. His dedication towards career went up to the point of postponing his marriage only to participate in World Cup 2011. The result; he was the highest scorer in the tournament, making India clinch the trophy. This hot-headed batsman does most of his talking with his bat, being a shy and almost an introvert. While his mates are busy dancing on after-match parties, he is seen enjoying from a distance. Even Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan failed to bring him on the dance floor. Gautam Gambhir’s wife called him a ‘criminal’ for not dancing at her brother’s marriage.
This is a gist about the batsman and his reluctance, when it comes to anything other than cricket. Gambhir is successful in his career and he is still a heavyweight batsman. This has a lot to do with his soulmate, Natasha Jain. Since before their marriage, she has been the helm of his life. The Delhi girl suddenly became a celebrity following her husband’s trail. The player needed a person who can keep him attach to the ground, while he flies around playing cricket. In his own words, Natasha is a person who can keep him grounded. She never talks cricket with him and this is exactly what Gambhir wanted from his wife.
Natasha Jain is a Delhiite and a daughter of an established businessman
The Gorgeous Natasha Jain is from Delhi. She is from a family of established industrialists. She was born on 26 July in 1984. The Amritsar born girl did her schooling in G.D. Goenka Public School of Delhi. Later, she studied Business Administration. In contrast to her husband, Natasha was little interested in cricket and she did not even knew that Gautam Gambhir is more than just a celebrity. It was not really the fact that Gambhir is a famous cricketer, which attracted her. It was more his easy-going nature despite being famous, which made her to fall in love.
The couple knew each other prior to their marriage. They developed a friendship, which eventually turned into a relationship after getting the nod ahead from their parents. The families decided to fix the marriage and Natasha was engaged to Gautam. In this stage, she had musings about her life as a wife of a celebrity. In an interview, she confessed that when you talk about marriage with a celebrity, you think about things from a different angle. It was the simplicity of the player paving the way for Natasha’s commitment and finally, they married a year after engagement.
Gautam Gambhir and Natasha Jain are blessed with two children
Natasha and Gautam Gambhir tied the nuptial bond in the month of October 2011. The marriage was at a Gurgaon farmhouse, as an exclusive private affair. Only close family members and friends from both the sides attended the marriage. Later, Gambhir hosted parties for his cricket mates and friends.
For Gambhir, maintaining a low profile is important. Personally, he does not like that much of limelight and publicity. Natasha is the perfect person to match his psyche. He believes her to be a person “with a good head on the shoulders”, who can keep him grounded. The cricketer once said, “I think I have got the right person”. And, Natasha is, in fact, the person to handle the player. Their marriage life is spicy bless with two baby girls and many such incidences making them a loving couple.
During 2011 IPL win of KKR, Gambhir danced on a sponsor’s shoot for the first time. This almost created a ruckus because, a dance by Gambhir was really a rare sight. The player never danced for anyone before, despite being requested by Sharukh Khan as well as by Natasha in different occasions. In an interview, the player confessed, “…Yes, I know my wife Natasha will kill me for this”, as he turned down her demands to dance many times before. He even refused to dance with her, but he shook legs with his teammates.
The couple was blessed with their first child in early months of 2014. On Gambhir’s Twitter many celebrities congratulated and sent wishes. It was in the time he was playing along with KKR in IPL. They named their daughter Aazeen. On June 21, 2017, they had their second child. Gambhir posted an image of the new born with his first daughter on Twitter, calling the baby, “little angel”. Even if Gambhir is fierce as a batsman on pitch, he becomes quite an opposite person when it comes to family. At birth of his first child, Gambhir said that Fatherhood brought him a lot of joy and luck. He thanked the creator. He wanted that his profile should read someday as: “Gautam Gambhir: Indian Cricketer, World Cup winner, Arjuna Awardee and now a Proud Father.”
