Misbah available for West Indies Tour
Misbah-ul-Haq was in a hiatus from being the test captain since the latest defeats.

For the next campaign of Pakistan, Misbah-ul-Haque came up as the leading men for the team. On March 6, Monday, the player made himself available for the South Africa Tour. Pakistan will tour West Indies for three test matches. It will comprise of only a single test series and is scheduled to begin on April 22. The first match will be played in Kingston. The player has been the captain of Pakistan’s test side, however, he dropped himself from the team previously. Misbah bargained some time from Pakistan’s board so that he could decide on his future. The player supposedly lost his form, that lead to appalling series defeats of the team from New Zealand and Australia.

In a latest stance, Misbah-ul-Haq rejoined the squad. It was confirmed by Shaharyar Khan, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman that the player informed about his own availability for the test series in West Indies. The chairman further added that the message will be sent to the selection committee and he will lead the team as the captain. Despite his latest odds, Misbah has been the most successful test captain. He has an attractive record of winning 24 test playing 53. It was under his leadership, Pakistan hauled themselves to the top position in Test rankings. In 2016, Pakistan defeated England by 10 wickets, which made the team to acquire the top position. The match was at the Oval last year. Misbah is now 42.

Another player, Sarfraz Ahmed will be with the team as the vice-captain in the upcoming series. The player was selected as Pakistan’s ODI captain only in the last month. The present series with West Indies will be followed by a four-match T20 internationals and a three-match ODI series. Thus, the captainships of the teams are most likely to remain unchanged for a long stretch. PCB is working on player’s selection for the upcoming campaign. The test squad will be announced in the latter part of this month. The ODI and T20 teams will be announced shortly.
