Mason Crane, waiting for Test Debut in Ashes for England
Mason Crane might be a gamechanger for England as a strong spin option against Australia.

England is getting ready for Australia at their home for Ashes season with several top picks in the primary XI. Many prospective cricketers are on the row to get a call for the legendary series. Young leg-spinner Mason Crane might be on loop of players selected for the tour. Crane is a leg-spinner. He has a little experience, but he proved his worth in the first-class and T20 matches he played so far. The bowler is 21 years old now. He has a strong prospect of an international test debut in the series. Crane’s chance in the series is getting stronger with Moeen Ali leaving the field due to injury issues. Ali will join in the first Test in Brisbane, but he is dropped from the team playing the warm up matches.

Mason Crane is mostly likely to be included as a standby option for Ali. He has already showed up his decency in the match against Western Australia XI. The player picked two wickets for 75 runs. In the next match, England will faceoff Cricket Australia XI. Crane’s roadmap to the Test debut is fairly-clear, with an average experience in Championship tournaments. In international cricket he played against team like UAE and South Africa in T20. Although in the couple of T20 he played, Crane could not make a mark, his form in county cricket has been impressive.

At present, England needs a strong leg spinner option. While, Ali is with injury issues, the inclusion of Crane will be a crucial move for the team. The bowler is a spin all-rounder with good experience in variations like googly and sliders. Another advantage of including Crane is his experience of Australian pitches. He played for Gordon District CC, with grand feats. He was also selected in Sheffield Shield matches. Crane has an experience of working with stalwarts like Stuart MacGill.
