Kolkata Knight Riders have won three matches of four and the upcoming fixture with Delhi Daredevils will be crucial for the team to be on the second spot. On the other side, Delhi Daredevils has been toppling their opponents at back to back matches and has even reached the top position until Mumbai Indians nicked it only on the previous match. For the Daredevils, Kotla pitch is a home venue, but KKR skipper, Gautam Gambhir, definitely has better ‘know how’ of the ground being the home-boy. Players like Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant has shown good batting stances in previous fixtures while Chris Morris has been a match winning bowler.
Delhi has been a bit fragile on batting front, but they surely have bowled impressively this season. Whereas, the Knight Riders has a formidable top order. Well, it does not mean that they have a weak bowling arsenal. The bowlers have already defended a score of 170 in a previous fixture. In the last two fixture when the team met at Kotla, Kolkata could not play it up to their own expectation. In IPL-9 KKR had to face a 27-run defeat from Daredevils on the same venue. So far, this season, Daredevils won two of three matches securing the third spot and KKR has similar record being second of the chart.
Corey Anderson, the Daredevils allrounder is looking a score of 160 plus. Per the player, the bowlers can defend any figures beyond it. He said the ending 20-to-30-runs was vital for their victory against the team in their first home fixture. While Robin Uthappa said, the team did well to defend the score in their latest fixture against Hyderabad, even if it was less than what they wanted. The powerplay overs has been stronger scoring stretches for KKR. The batsmen have scored a total 224 runs at the rate of 9.20, of which Gambhir along knocked 105 runs off 68 balls.
