Knights Riders thumps massive victory over Delhi Daredevils in Eden Garden IPL Match
Nitish Rana, took away the Player of the Match award plundering 59 off 35 balls.

Kolkata Knight Riders thumped a high scoring victory against Delhi Daredevils in their home ground, Eden Garden. The high tally came up after Andre Russell blitzed a 12-ball-41 in a flashy inning of 6 sixes. In the partnership stretch of 22 balls with Nitish Rana, the players added 61 runs. Knight Riders challenged Delhi Daredevils posing 201 as the target in the IPL match. Earlier in the inning, Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and Chris Lynn injected strong scores into the inning. Rana hammered 5 fours and 4 sixes to score 59 runs off 35 balls. Robin Uthappa bolstered the inning with 35 runs playing 19 balls, while Lynn played 29 balls to score 31 runs as the opener.

Delhi Daredevils bowled strong in the first stretch to deny any runs. When Sunil Narine was taken down the Trent Boult in the third over, the score was only 7. However, by the 11th over, with a departed Lynn, the score burgeoned to 89. Still, the actual momentum arrived by the last five overs when Russell made the entry. After both Rana and Russell returned back in the pre-ultimate over, the inning again hit a sharp decline leaving the concluding over without any palpable score. In the last over, Rahul Tewatia toppled three wickets. Russell feasted in the overs from Mohammed Shami lofting him for three back to back sixes. It was one of best IPL innings for Russell.

In the chase, Delhi Daredevils could not propel the required momentum to win. Losing three wickets in he first three overs, the inning did not take off for the winning runs. When Gautam Gambhir returned by the end of third over, the chase was at 24 for 3. The only double-digit scores in the batting lineup was from Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell. The batsmen played 33 balls together to forge a partnership of more than 62 runs. Pant scored 43 off 26 balls while Maxwell thumped 47 off 22 balls. There was a spree of 10 fours and 5 sixes combined from both the players in the inning. It was Kuldeep Yadav that ended their enterprise sending them at the gap of an over.

Pant was down in the ninth over followed by Maxwell in the eleventh. The rest of the players fell like a deck of cards at paltry scores. The chase sustained for only 14.2 overs as Daredevils surrendered its lineup in 129 runs. Knight Riders won the match by a massive 71 runs.
