Karun Nair and Manish Pandey to Lead India A team in South Africa
Karun Nair is one of the best emerging Test players of the country.


Karun Nair and Manish Pandey are selected to lead the India A team in the upcoming Tri-nation series in South Africa. India A will tour South Africa to play against South Africa A and Australia A. India will play two four day matches against South Africa. After the long format, the team will play ODIs against Australia A and the hosts. It will be an unofficial test series. India will start the campaign with a single One-Day match against Australia A on July 26. The first match of the tour for India is scheduled at Groenkloof. Nair will play as the captain of the Test team and Pandey will lead the One-Day team.

India A team comprises of players from domestic first class and List A circuit. Batsmen in the ODI squad are Mandeep Singh, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda. Bowlers in the team are Siddarth Kaul, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Basil Thampi. Manish Pandey, the captain is himself a batsman. The team also has Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jayant Yadav as middle order player. Yadav is also in the Test team along with Shreyas Iyer abd Shardul Thakur. Apart from these players, the Test team has Mandeep Priyank Panchal, Abhinav Mukund and Ankit Bawne as batsmen and Ankil Rajpoot, Aniket Choudhary, Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini as bowlers.

In the tour, only two players are currently with the India squad. Karun Nair and Jayant Jadav are in the International team. The other top batsmen and bowlers are picked up from the best in domestic circuit. The player’s strike in first-class matches and Ranji Trophy was considered to pick the team.

India A will play a total of four one day matches in the tour, two each with South Africa A and Australia A. The first match is in July 26, which the last, against South Africa is in August 3. The Final match will be played on August 8.
