Australia is starting to warmed up again with BBL heat. Recently, another top cricketer from the country was roped into the circuit. James Pattinson was picked up for two seasons of the tournament by Brisbane Heat. The bowler was away from international cricket match schedules due to injury issues. He had multiple injuries for which the player was being treated in New Zealand. He had a surgery due to four stress fractures on his back.
Pattinson last played in July 2017. Lately, the fast bowler recovered to full fitness and is ready to strike his next match. Brisbane Heat head coach Daniel Vettori strongly backed Pattinson’s inclusion to the team. Per the coach, he would fill in up the areas of improvement in the team. Vettori said the management “identified some areas” that need improvement in the team and Pattinson is expected to deliver these specifics.
As a senior bowler he would be also helpful in mentoring the upcoming bowlers in the squad. Hoping that fans would welcome him Vittorri accoladed Pattinson saying he is handful for any batting side. So far, the Aussie quick has maintained an impressive average in T20. In his record of T20 International matches in the shortest format, he took 34 wickets at an average of 24.61.
Patterson said, with Brisbane Heat, he would have a “fresh start”, to which he was “really looking forward to”. The bowler admitted that he is feeling very good after the surgery and is looking forward for some bowling during the winters.
Brisbane Heat also announced its squad for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. The team has two overseas players as Brendon McCullum and Shadab Khan. Other top players in the team are Chris Lynn, Ben Cutting, Alex Ross and so on. Pattinson is definitely a big name in the team. Signing in with Brisbane Heat he is now looking forward to work with the team. He expressed his gratefulness towards Melbourne Renegades and Stars, with whom he played in earlier seasons.
