The third league match of Duleep Trophy started at Kanpur between Inia Green and India Blue. The first inning lasted for 52 overs with India Blue batting for 177 runs. By end of the day, India Green batted for 100 runs at a loss of three wickets. Thus, the team trailed by 77 runs. In the first inning, Parveez Rasool and Aniket Choudhary raptured the Blue team taking down eight wickets between them. Rasool dismissed five wickets, whole Choudhary removed three. After Blue's collapse, India Green set off the second inning of the game with an opening partnership inning of 53 runs.
Earlier in the match, India Blue lost two wickets for 16 runs. In the first six overs Samit Gohel and K Srikar Bharat were sent back from the pitch. The third wicket partnership between Manoj Tiwari and Suresh Raina steered the inning for 87 runs. However, the momentum slogged again with Raina's wicket at 40. After some time, Deepak Hooda followed his captain to the pavilion. India Blue was 124 for 4 with his wicket. By 43 overs, the team lost another three wickets, while they could pull up the score only to 152. Tiwary scored 78 batting until the 47th over in the match, being removed by Rasool. The latter gave away 70 runs for 5 wickets in the inning.
In the second inning, India Blue had considerable success. Still, the low score in their inning took the dig. Also, the inning had a healthy momentum brining 50 runs in 22 overs. Kaushik Gandhi played as the score engine with 39 off 72. He was at the crease until the 27th over. In the tournament so far, India Red has reached the final. The winner of this match will play the final at Lucknow set to begin on September 20.
