In the ongoing Regional Super50 Competition, ICC Americas nicked the first victory in the current season. It is the first victory for the team since their induction in 2016. The Americas ran over Combine Campuses and Colleges by 72 runs. The result was declared using the Duckworth-Lewis Method, as it was interrupted. The team lost ten matches in the tournament previously. Headed by Nitish Kumar, the team comprises of players from Bermuda, Canada, and USA. In the last match, Kumar scored 80 off 100 balls to total a score of 265. In the match, they opted to bat first after winning the toss. Other players to smash half centuries in the inning were Kamau Leverock and Timroy Allen. Leverock knocked 55 and Allen smashed 69 off 73 balls.
Vikash Mohan was the first to attack the team removing Vikash Mohan in the 18th over. He also toppled the middle order dismissing Srimantha Wijeratne and Hamza Tariq. The strike slid the team to 121 for 5. The inning was salvaged with partnership stand between Kumar and Allen. The batsmen paired for 97 runs in total adding 32 runs in 3.4 overs after the downpour interruption. They played with substantial aggression. It was the highest partnership of the team so far. By the final over, the batting line up faced a late wobble. In 49th over Allen fell to Nino Henry, while, in the last over Jermaine Levy claimed a hat trick. The bowler attained an impressive figure of 4 for 22 runs.
In the chase, the CCC started strong, but by the 20th over, they could pull up the score only to 97 for 2. Amir Jangoo, the opener and third batsman Mohan returned to the pavilion early before rain interrupted the match. In the 25th over, Timil Patel created a middle other slump removing Kyle Corbin and Cassius Burton. The team was bowled out for 187 in the 44th over, handing an easy victory to ICC Americas. Skipper Kumar was named as the Player of the Match.
