India's superstar and World's no. 2 batsman in ODIs, Rohit Sharma suffered a brutal blow on his right elbow in the ongoing inaugural ODI against England in Pune. During the fifth over of the first innings, Mark Wood delivered a quick, 148 kph length ball, which exploded off the deck. Rohit, looking to defend, missed it and the ball hit on his right elbow.
As soon as the physio saw Rohit is discomfort, he rushed out to aid. Although one can clearly see blood coming out of his elbow, Rohit got some treatment and was back to bat. After struggling for a handful of balls, Rohit, scooped one full ball from Sam Curran over fine-leg fielder.

Earlier, Virat Kohli's drought with the toss continued as Eoin Morgan again won the toss and elected to field first. Kohli, however, was delighted to bat first as he said they had 'different plans'. England welcomed Moeen Ali back into the side after dropping him for all five T20Is.
India, on the other hand, decided to stick with KL Rahul as an opener, dropping Rishabh Pant. Two bowlers, Krunal Pandya and Prasidh Krishna were handed their India caps before the match.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan started the innings watchfully as Mark Wood and Sam Curran were getting bounce and swing early on. The duo scored just 10 runs from the first 5 overs.
