Essex ropes in Adam Zampa for Natwest Blast
At present, Adam Zampa is among the top leg-spinners in international cricket.

After IPL auction, England’s Natwest T20 Blast is catching fire setting out the headhunting. Lately, Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa was roped in by Essex. The played signed up with the county team on 6th of February, Tuesday. Earlier, the team had a change of management hiring new head coach Anthony McGrath. The team is known for its strong players from both domestic and international circuit.

Still, Essex has been an underdog in the tournament. In the previous four seasons, the team could not break into even the semi-final stages. Now under the new head coach, the team is undergoing an internal re-structuring. Essex will also hire their assistant head-coach soon. Earlier, the team signed up pace bowler Peter Siddle.

Adam Zampa is expected to boost the team’s performance significantly. Head coach McGrath disclosed that the top bowler was on their purview for a while. His ability to spin the ball both ways is the prime reason for his inclusion. McGrath also mentioned the player’s ability to impact on middle overs as an important aspect. He also highlighted Zampa’s form in several top T20 tournaments like BBL and IPL.

Per the coach, the bowler’s experience with the white ball would gain them an advantage in the upcoming tournament. He added that as a team, Essex have already done the ‘homework’. Now he expects that inclusion of a leg-spinner would make a great difference, accolading Zampa as “one of the best” leg-spinners in the world at the moment. He termed the deal as “another outstanding singing for the Club.”

Adam Zampa is well known as a limited overs specialist. He has been playing in CPL, IPL and BBL as a top choice. With an excellent economy, he has a wicket tally of 86 in only 74 T20 matches so far. He is among the forerunning bowlers of Australia in limited overs format. He is featured in both domestic and international tournaments of Australia as a bowling spearhead.
