India’s premier leg-spinner in the shortest format Yuzvendra Chahal has come forward to help a patient based in Bangalore. Over the last couple of months, people on social media are helping out each other by collecting information, making databases and sharing leads for the needy people.
One such popular fundraiser is Ketto, which is funded by the crowd and Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal came forward to donate total INR 2 lakhs to help a Bangalore patient fight coronavirus. Earlier, Chahal had donated INR 95,000 in an initiative raised by Indian captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma. Initially, the duo had targeted INR 7 crore, but with so much donations, they had to increase the goal to INR 11 crore, which they successfully achieved in a week.
Chahal donates INR 2 lakhs for treatment of a Bangalore-based patient
The fundraiser had aimed for a collection of INR 4 lakh and half of their donation came from Chahal’s two donations of INR 1 lakh each. “We are raising funds for my friend’s family, Amudha who is suffering from Corona Virus and is undergoing treatment at an ICU with ventilator support ST JOHNS MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL (Bangalore). The family has done all it can to collect the total amount required for the treatment but Rs.400000 more is required to pay for all the medical expenses.”

Chahal’s father hospitalized with ‘Severe symptoms’
Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma took to Instagram to break the news that Chahal’s parents had tested positive for coronavirus. She also revealed that his father is hospitalized with ‘severe symptoms’, while his mother is being treated at home.
“My parents in law have tested positive with severe symptoms. My father in law is admitted and my mother in law is being treated at home,” Dhanashree wrote in her Instagram story. “I was at the hospital and I have witnessed the worst. I’m taking all the precautions, but Guys please stay at home and take proper care of your family,” she added.
