India’s middle-order batsman in limited-overs format Shreyas Iyer on Thurdsday, May 27, posted a video with his sister and their pet dog Betty on Instagram. Shreyas Iyer is always seen active on social media, be it for his dancing videos, or for his handsome portraits.
In the recent video, Iyer was standing alongside his dog Betty and his sister Shresta. The three performed the trending challenge involving a pet dog. The challenge states ‘If you have a dog, run in the opposite direction to see who your dog loves more’. The brother-sister duo did as per the challenge and surprisingly, their pet dog ran towards Shresta.
“And when the camera is on, she runs in the opposite direction,” Iyer wrote in the post. The video also attracted numerous likes and comments from his fans, and some of them even told him to accept his defeat.

Iyer on the road to recovery; Might tour Sri Lanka for limited-overs series
Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the ODI series against England during the first match, when he injured his shoulder while fielding. As surgery was the only option, he was subsequently ruled out from the 14th edition of Indian Premier League. In his absence, Rishabh Pant was appointed as the skipper of Delhi Capitals.
However, now, it looks like the swashbuckling batsman has started his rehab and is well on the road to gaining full fitness. India is set to tour Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series in the coming month, and the tour will comprise of some T20Is, which will act as a preparation for the T20 World Cup and some ODIs.
Iyer is said to recover before the team is declared, however, the captaincy hat might be donned by Shikhar Dhawan, who will be the most experienced Indian cricketer on the tour, as the main squad will be in England for the five-match Test series.
