Ahead of Team India’s departure to England for a long summer, Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri showed up for a virtual press conference and answered the questions of numerous journalists. The Indian Cricket Team boarded the flight to the UK at late night on June 2. They will first play the historic inaugural World Test Championship Final against New Zealand and then the five-match Test series against England.
Before boarding the flight, the captain and the coach attended a press conference which was live on digital streaming platform Hotstar and moments before the start of the press conference, Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli were discussing the bowling plan against New Zealand batsmen. Accidentally, Virat Kohli spilled the plan and revealed the names of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami and all those who were in the press conference, heard their talk.
In the audio shared by a Twitter user, Kohli can be heard speaking, “Hum inko round the wicket dalwayenge (we will ask them to bowl around the wicket). Left handers hai inke (New Zealand have got a lot of left-handers). Lala, Siraj sabko around the wicket (Shami, Siraj will bowl around the wicket).”

According to their conversation, it can be predicted that Mohammed Siraj might get the nod along with Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. It remains to be seen whether they will play only one spinner and Ishant Sharma, or play two spinners, leaving out the veteran quick.
The pitch in Southampton has often assisted the spinners and if the conditions are drier for the entire duration of the Test match, Indian management will be prompted to field two spinners. New Zealand are currently playing England in a tw0-match Test series and the first Test between them got underway yesterday at Lord’s.
Following this, they will play the second Test in Birmingham before travelling to Southampton to play India in the one-off Final.
