Confident Kolkata ready to tussle Punjab at Mohali
Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine delivered the best-ever partnership inning in IPL in the last fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kolkata Knight Riders is among the top teams. But in the latest tussle, Mumbai Indians were toppled by Sunrisers Hyderabad in style. This is how the IPL pie crumbles. Thus, the upcoming match between Kolkata and Kings Punjab is just not un-match. In their last fixture against Gujarat, Punjab lost at home. The team is on a way down, but three wins against the strongest ones could turn their way up the point chart. Kolkata, so far, has won 14 matches and lost 6 matches against Kings Punjab. Kolkata is back from an impressive victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore at their home ground.

At Mohali, Punjab is preparing to play without its top guns. Hashim Amla is on national duty, so is David Miller. The team has been already playing without Eoin Morgan and Marcus Stoinis. Gautam Gambhir has been steering Kolkata with his own strikes. Additionally, players like Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine emerged as the top striker for the team. Their confidence to play against Punjab is obvious. Punjab has won only a single match out of three at Mohali this season.

As rain is predicted, it would be the chasing side at advantage in the match. Darren Sammy might have a chance to play. Manan Vohra is most likely to replace Amla as the opener. Matt Henry is also an allrounder option for Punjab. For Kolkata, as Robin Uthappa is back from injury, he would replace Sheldon Jackson. The team is already with the toughest formation, hence without a reason to change the squad.,

In Mohali, skipper Gambhir has an intense record of scoring fifties. The captain is now equipped with players like Narine and Lynn. He said, he “haven’t seen such a partnership to be honest,” which, the players presented in the last victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Whereas, Glenn Maxwell, Kings XI captain, will try to regroup the team. He is certainly feeling the absence of Hashim Alma and David Miller, terming it as “unfortunate.”
