The single off T20 International between India and Sri Lanka closed the curtain of the long tournament. The tour was a clean sweep for India in a rare display of dominance. Sri Lanka could not win a single match in the entire tournament of 2 Test, 5 ODIs and a single T20I. In the match at Colombo, Sri Lanka posed the target of 171 for India. The inning had a strong batting stretch delivered by Dilshan Munaweera. At this point, Sri Lanka seemed to have posed a challenging score for the visitors, but it did not take much for India's bowlers, to shun the intensity. Another excellent batting was from Ashan Priyanjan, who steered the inning as a middle order batsman. He scored 40 off 40 balls remaining unbeaten throughout the inning.
Munaweera scored a half century. The batsmen hammered 5 fours and 4 sixes to add a quick 53 off 29 balls. But the rest of the team, excluding Priyanjan, could not deliver any strong score to the tally. Yuzvendra Chahal blitz with three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav knocked down two wickets. India was particularly dominant in batting. The team scaled the target with 4 balls and 7 wickets to spare. Sri Lanka's defense was restricted to Rohit Sharma's wicket in the third over. Even if the team lost two early wickets, the chase was never derailed.
The chase was bolstered with Virat Kohli's 82 off 54 balls and the unbeaten half century off Manish Pandey. Lokesh Rahul added 24 losing his wicket early after Sharma. Kohli and Pandey steered the chase to the victory mark. Kohli was dismissed in the pre-ultimate over with the team needing 10 runs to win. Manish Pandey and Dhoni partnered in the final stretch, with the latter playing only a single ball for a single run. India's inning has good running between wickets. In the match, Virat Kohli reached the mark of 15,000 international runs. It was a massive victory for India.
