The upcoming IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore are deemed as a high voltage one due to the opponent players on either side. In the previous tussle between the teams in Indore, Punjab lost to Bangalore, but the latter had to face the strong knock off Lokesh Rahul. In the match, the batsmen plundered his third consecutive half ton. On the other side, Royal Challengers Bangalore was boosted by the duo, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The latter won, while shunning Rahul’s knock.
The lacunas of both Royal Challengers and Kings Punjab are the same. Both of the teams are more than just dependent on a couple of players. If it is only Rahul and Chris Gayle for Kings Punjab, it is only Kohli and de Villiers for Bangalore. The teams are also similar in bowling ensemble, both slogging on death bowling on flat pitch. Both Challengers and Kings have the lowest economies bowling the most expensive last-five-overs so far.
In the last three IPL matches, both Kings Punjab and Royal Challengers lost two matches and won a single. In the last faceoffs, Punjab beat Rajasthan Royals, but Bangalore lost the match to Chennai Super Kings. In the previous campaign between the two, Challengers bowler Yadav had a strong stance against Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. His 3 wickets for 23 runs was a crucial figure in the match. In the chase, de Kock and de Villiers chased down the target. In this match as well, the Royals would come up with de Kock as their prime bet against Kings’ bowlers.
Getting ready for the upcoming match at Indore, players from both the teams are on a positive note. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spin bowler from Royal Challengers Bangalore is expecting a completely different wicket as the ground is small. He is well aware about the “in-form” batsmen in the team and thus, the bowlers are busy to make strategies accordingly. Meanwhile, Kings XI bowler Andrew Tye wants some other batsman than Lokesh Rahul to come up with a strong strike for the team.
