“Building a good team culture is very important” – Venkatesh Prasad
Venkatesh Prasad was the bowling coach of team India for two years after 2007 World Cup.

The coach’s team of India might undergo a change or return to the previous order it was before a year. While Ravi Shastri applied for the post of head coach, Venkatesh Prasad has become eager for the post of bowling coach. Prasad has been the bowling coach of the team before Kumble was handed the head coach position. During Kumble’s period, there was no requirement for a bowling coach because, Kumble himself took care of the department. Prasad is most likely to submit the application for the role of bowling coach before July 9 deadline. The ex-cricketer said he did not apply for the post until now, but he will do it before the deadline.

Mr. Prasad is Keen to serve Team India as the bowling coach. He would apply for assistant coach. The former top bowler made up his mind to work under Ravi Shastri or Virender Sehwag. He wants to bring his experiences in international cricket and in coaching the team. Previously, under Shastri, the bowling coach was Bharat Arun. Sanjay Bangar was the batting coach and R. Sridhar was the fielding coach. The Cricket Advisory Committee will select the new team of coach from the list of applicants. However, the supporting staff is hired according to the head coach. Therefore, chances of Prasad as the bowling coach will also depend on the head coach.

Mr. Prasad also applied for the position of coach back in 2016. The panel did not select him. He is now the chairman of Junior Selection Committee. He was also the coach of Uttar Pradesh Ranji Team. He was also with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka cricket team as the coach. Prasad was the bowling coach of team India after the 2007 World Cup. He was also the coach of Under-19 team. He has several accolades as a coach of teams from IPL to international circuit. Per Prasad, coach should know how to hone the talents and skills. Knowledge of bio-mechanics and other specifics is handy. He said building a good team culture is very important.
