BCCI all set to lift ban on Rajasthan Cricket Association
Rajasthan Cricket Association was banned as Lalit Modi was re-elected as the president despite corruption charges.

It is being three years since Rajasthan Cricket Association is banned after the IPL swindle in 2014. In the month of May, the BCCI suspended the state board as Lalit Modi was re-elected even after clear evidence of malpractice against him. The legal authorities came up to elect RCA’s new president in June 2017. CP Joshi was elected as the new president of the Board. After a hefty makeover in the office, BCCI has decided to lift the ban on the Board recently. It was since 2014, the national board was overseeing the cricket affairs of Rajasthan.

The Committee of Administrators and the current office bearers of BCCI broke the impasse. Per CK Khanna, acting BCCI president, the final decision would be taken at an appropriate forum and the issue is scheduled to be discussed in the next meeting of the board. BCCI created an ad-hoc committee to oversee cricket affairs of BCCI, and the acting president was the chairman of the committee. However, CoA dissolved the committee recently. In fact, CoA directed Khanna to call the SGM by November 16 to speed up the process of revoking the ban. RCA is entitled to appear before the Rajasthan High Court by late November.

BCCI also worked palpably on Rajasthan’s cricket scenario. Lately, the board came up with the name of senior and junior teams of the state. Previously, Lalit Modi, the primary accused of the IPL scam, broke the last link with RCA, resigning from the designation of Nagpur District Cricket Association president. Modi’s resignation came after a period of commotion as he refused to quit. It was the reason BCCI banned RCA stopping any release of funds to the state. Even the government of India got entangled in the issue, as Modi was away from the country living in London, during the enquiry period.
