Pakistan finally seem to have a breakthrough in scheduling Bangladesh for a tour to the country. According to Shaharyar Khan, Bangladesh will tour Pakistan in July. Not only Bangladesh will be touring, Pakistan too will tour Bangladesh following the series. The PCB chairman almost confirm the fixtures, without mentioning anything about the time. Khan has been busy with Sri Lanka Cricket as well as Bangladesh Cricket Board discussing Asian Cricket Council affairs. When he made the statements, the chairman was in Colombo, at a meeting with Thilanga Sumathipala, SLC Chairman and Nazmul Hassan from BCB.
Khan said that it is a “big step” for Pakistan as Bangladesh agreed to send his high-performance team to the country. He said, Bangladesh will campaign against the high-performance team in Pakistan. However, he also made it clear that the national squad did not agree to tour Pakistan. To par with it, Khan said, his home team will seek for further options to play in Bangladesh or in a neutral venue in Sri Lanka. The chairman aimed for the ICC high-performance teams that will be playing in July. The dates for the tournament ate still to be announced. PCB is searching for new neutral venues. Khan said Dubai is expensive and they might collaborate with Sri Lanka.
Pakistan, lately, invited Bangladesh to for a two match T20 series at home. However, citing security issues, Bangladesh turned down the invitation. In return, Khan scheduled the senior team of his nation to tour Bangladesh in July or August. PCB will be also discussing the financial terms and compensation tours to Bangladesh. Since 2011, it is only twice that Pakistan toured Bangladesh. Khan said, the Boards have mutually agreed on a financial model.
