In a bold decision by the Pakistani Cricket community, Mohammad Amir was allowed to reenter into International Cricket. The fast bowler from Pakistan was selected for the ODI and T20 matches for the upcoming tour to New Zealand. His return was however with much tussle, as many senior players were not in favor of the decision. Players like Mohammad Hafeez and ODI Captain Azhar Ali vehemently opposed his inclusion. The Skipper even went to the extent of offering his resignation. However, his selection for the tour was confirmed as the Pakistan Cricket Board mediated swiftly over the issues.
The bowler returned into the team after a ban of five years for spot fixing. Mohammad Amir was exposed for deliberate no balls in the Test match that was played in 2010 that cost his own team. A consistent bowler, he was respected by every batsman on the pitch. Even if the player lost his sheen over the controversy, his surprise return is bringing new prospects. Amir's inclusion in the international squad highlights his significance in Pakistan's cricket. Being one of the top fast bowlers in the team, he is an exceptional performer with unique action, ability and approach.
The bowler was more of a na ve youngster who believed in the path taken by seniors. His involvement in the incident of August 2010, did only proved his ignorance to handle such matters. As far as Pakistani fans are concerned, he is welcomed by the country even if here exist some mild friction. The instance of Najam Sethi taking his case to ICC in with an intension to reduce his suspension was perceived by fans on a positive note. However, many believed that Amir might have been associated with nefarious activities since before and many questioned his form for international cricket after the long ban.
For some of Amir's supporters, Amir could go to such extent only because, there were people who did overcome punishments for such offences. They also raised the point that some of his supporters are taking the stance, as at some point of time, they might have participated or involved to some extent at similar cases.
Mohammad Amir has emphasized that he wants to be on the brighter side of the game without any more stains. He added that he should be given a chance to change for good.
